This resting girl refers, in a broader meaning, to the small places across Estonia. There’s a strong sense of my own summer memories in this image – of lying around, sunbathing – and it even echoes the Curly Strings song about how you need to be tanned by June 2nd. The picture speaks of lazing, sunbathing, killing time, boredom – and yet, at the same time, of endless waiting, longing, dreaming, and the desire to fly away someplace else… Everything is still ahead, and every person – every small-town soul – has the chance to shape their life into what they truly wish it to be. This artwork is dedicated to all the girls, big and small, in Kolga-Jaani and across Estonia.
Let it be a reminder: you must dare to dream big!
